This week's Renner newsletter:

Dear Friend,

Even if the circumstances you’re currently facing aren’t what you wish them to be, you can still say by faith, “It is well with my soul!” But what does it mean to say, “It is well with my soul,” when in the natural, you feel as if your world is falling apart?

Those words are filled with faith. How else could you speak them over yourself in the midst of life’s great storms? When everything in your life is going wonderfully, it doesn’t take much faith to make the proclamation, “It is well with my soul.” But when you feel as if your life is in free fall — if your child is sick, a loved one is on drugs, your spouse is ignoring you or giving all their time to work and others, you can’t pay the bills and you feel like your back is against a wall with everything coming against you all at once — it takes a great step of faith to utter those five simple words to the Heavenly Father.

When we speak those words of faith during difficult times, it pleases the Lord (see Hebrews 11:6). And as we trust in Him through the hardships we face, He plans a reward for our faith. That is the power behind our salvation — that although we may experience some of the worst circumstances on Earth, we can still go on to proclaim that it is well! Such words come by the quickening of the Holy Spirit within us — and when they are spoken, they release divine power!

Do you need to take your own step of faith today? Is it time to speak to all that is coming against you, proclaiming those resurrection-power words, “It is well with my soul”?

God paid a great price for us through Jesus so we could experience His life and liberty on this earth in our everyday lives. The words, “It is well with my soul,” are a declaration of your faith to yourself, the angels, and your Heavenly Father that despite everything going on around you, your trust is in God and your stance of faith remains firm!

I encourage you to keep this declaration of faith in your heart and mind as you start your week. If a troubling situation tries to pull you down, remember the incredible price Jesus paid for your salvation and firmly and faithfully declare, It is well!

Psalm 42:5 says, “Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.” God’s countenance — His Person, presence, and power — is waiting to deliver and help those who will put their trust in Him. That’s you and me! That power is present right now to work on our behalf. God is just waiting for us to speak forth words of faith and to take hold of this awesome delivering power!

We are moving forward together,

Denise Renner
